The New York State Parent Helpline Intern will be responsible for working with Helpline office staff to develop accurate databases for information and referral, research issues such as domestic violence, child abuse prevention, parenting, and others, and assist callers to the Helpline with issues related to parenting and families.
This is a tremendous experience for those working toward degrees in social work, school counseling, school psychology, mental health counseling, research, and human services.
Please Note: We do not work directly with children and families (except over the phone), and we are unable to offer a paid internship at this time. Must be available with a set schedule (created weekly) during our office hours, 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri.
This is a full immersion internship, as interns take on independent projects and participate in staff activities.
