Description

The Foundation for Education Reform & Accountability is an independent nonprofit, nonpartisan education reform research organization based in Clifton Park, N.Y. (approximately 15 minutes from Albany, Schenectady, Troy and Saratoga Springs) that focuses on issues involving innovation, accountability, and choice.

Education policy research internships are offered at various times throughout the year, are available to undergraduate or graduate students, and may be full-time or part-time. To ensure consideration for Fall 2010 positions, applications should be submitted no later than Monday, September 13th.

Candidates should have an interest in education policy and be able to conduct thorough, high-quality research and to write effectively.

Bright, dependable, hard-working interns will take on a variety of challenging projects and responsibilities, including:

• Research. Assist the organization's research team on a variety of projects, including issues related to: charter schools; school choice; setting and achieving academic standards; teacher and principal quality; reauthorization of the federal No Child Left Behind Act; assessments and accountability systems; curriculum and pedagogy; property tax policy; and, mayoral control and other school district reforms. Activities will include conducting research, analyzing data, and writing memos and reports.

• Administrative Duties. Assisting staff with tasks such as web-site maintenance, drafting correspondence, compiling and distributing research materials, and other office duties.
