About Tech Valley Internships

Tech Valley Internships started with a grant from the New York State Department of Labor to help establish viable and meaningful internship opportunities for high school and college students in the Greater Capital Region. This included the counties of: Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington.

The program was a unique partnership of several local organizations who shared an investment in connecting students with employers for workforce preparation. These organizations included: Capital Region Human Resource Association, Capital Region Workforce Investment Board, Center for Economic Growth, Columbia-Greene Community College, Columbia-Greene Workforce Investment Board, Saratoga-Warren-Washington Workforce Investment Board, and the Workforce Consortium for Emerging Technologies.

The long-term vision of Tech Valley Internships is to create a virtual regional internship center, fully integrated with other career resource. The goal will be to provide a "one-stop" site for self-assessment and career exploration for students, and connections with local employers to provide opportunities for more in-depth career investigation as well as experiential learning.
